Welcome to my astronomy section!
Have you ever wondered if we are the only living creatures in
all the universe? Wondered if there were other planets out there
just like Earth? Well I have always been interested in Astronomy.
Ever since I could remember, I have always looked up into the
night sky and awed at the moon and stars. After 19 years of my
life, I finally had the chance to get really into astronomy with
my first purchase of a telescope.
While I was at Costco one day with
my friend, I saw a Meade ETX-60AT telescope. It isn't much now
that I know more about scopes, but for a beginner, it was perfect!
I got a tremendous deal on the scope, $100 flat! They usually
sell for around $200 and up. Well I took this baby home and that
was the beginning of the end!
After viewing the skies with my new
telescope, I started to research and read a little bit more into
astronomy. Oh man was that ever a costly mistake! I started to
visit telescope stores online and in real life. Ask my friend
about going to the store! She'll tell you how boring it is to
go there and hear me blab on and on about astronomy!
Well I now have another telescope
in addition to the original ETX-60AT that I bought, the ETX-125
with the autostar controller. Instead of the 2" aperture
that the 60at offers, the newer ETX-125 offers a 5" aperture.
That isn't anything yet! I am now waiting on a newly designer
Meade LX-200 GPS 12" telescope! That not only offers much
better deep space observing, but it also adds about 70 more pounds
to the scope!!! Can you say chiropractor?? Below I have attached
a picture of the GPS telescope that I am hoping to get within
the next few months! I will definitely post up pictures once I
get it!
